Today, we are sharing some insights from the integration meeting in Ljungby, Sweden, where Pekka Yli-Paunu (KAL), Andreas Alesani (VTT), Kaj Helin (VTT) and Martijn Rooker (TTC) were coming together to combine the virtual world with the real world: this is hands-on-work!
On the first day of the integration meeting, different sensing technologies were installed on the reachstacker ensuring that all components are reachable and able to interact with each other. The second day focused mainly on testing the system in an outdoor environment, including a remote connection from Tampere, Finland to Ljungby, Sweden.
The main sensing components integrated on the reachstacker were a Nokia360 camera and a Cupola360 camera, giving the operator a full environmental view and detection of objects around the machine and the containers.
At the end of the integration meeting, everything functioned as expected and showed promising results for XR-supported remote operation of reachstackers in tight environments.
