Use Case #3: Construction
Operators of excavators, representative for the construction machinery and use case, are typically features by 3D machine control systems paving the way for the comprehensive implementation of model-based construction. The challenge for the operator is the increased complexity and automation in novel and more dynamic information spaces while operating a heavy machine.
The objective of our construction use case is to provide interfaces for the operator for handling digital design models and their implementation efficiently and safely. The usage of mixed-reality technologies will aid the human operator in controlling the machine.
For this use case, three scenarios have been depicted:
- Finish grading according to a target surface profile
- Collision avoidance (persons or objects)
- Infield Design
